Assistant Commissioner Gary Wixom Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Assistant Commissioner for Career and Technical Information, Gary Wixom, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Utah Association for Career and Technical Education. This state-level award was presented to Dr. Wixom at the UACTE annual winter conference held in St. George on February 1st & 2nd. Gary Wixom has been a teacher and administrator in CTE for 43 years. As a business educator, Gary has taught at the high school, community college and university levels. Gary is committed to CTE and believes that it holds the future to strong economic growth for Utah and the nation. As the state-level recipient of this award, Dr. Wixom will now be in contention for the lifetime achievement award presented by the National Association for Career and Technical Education at their annual conference in Phoenix in May 2013.
