Dixie State staff member named Distinguished Woman of the Year
(Deseret News) — A St. George organization is honoring a Dixie State College staff member for promoting math and science.
The St. George branch of the American Association of University Women has named Vice President of Institutional Advancement Christina Schultz as their Distinguished Woman of the Year. She will be honored in Salt Lake City on May 6.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to work with AAUW to realize their dream of implementing the first eSMART math and science camp for seventh-grade girls in Washington and Kane counties,” Shultz said. “It has been very rewarding to serve as a link between the college and AAUW and inspire young women to ‘dream big.’”
A University of Southern California alum, Shultz was hired at Dixie State in 2005. She oversees fundraising, alumni relations, public relations, marketing and publications, and the school’s cultural arts program.
Shultz will be recognized locally at the St. George chapter AAUW meeting on May 2.
