Forms 101
Its almost the end of 2009 and with every day that passes my dread grows: tax season approaches.
We all have different reasons for our anxiety this time of year and mine is probably simpler than mostI just really dont like to do the paperwork. I mean, honestly . . . could they make it any more complicated?
Tax forms hurt my brain–as do DMV forms, SSA forms, DOD forms, etc. In fact, Im just going to say it: government forms in general are a pain in the neck. Unfortunately, some forms relating to federal student loans fall into this category.
But since you have loans, if you need to complete a form, remember:
Were here to help. Yeah, I know, so is the IRS, but were a lot easier to reach. So call us. Or, heck, leave a comment here and youll get a response almost, if not, as quickly.
Take it slow. Make sure you understand what youre signing, sign in the right places, and provide documentation if necessary. And if you sense a headache coming on, remember: were experts and were here to help.
Keep Copies. When possible, keep your originals and send us a copyyou never know when you might need this paperwork again.
