Master of Taxation Degree First of Its Kind in State
Beginning this fall, Weber State University will offer a Master of Taxation (MTax) degree, the first of its kind at an AACSB-accredited university in Utah.
WSU is one of only a handful of institutions in the Intermountain West to offer a stand-alone MTax degree.
The new degree, approved by the Utah State Board of Regents in late June, will be housed in the School of Accountancy in WSU’s John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics. The Goddard School is accredited by AACSB-International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
An MTax degree provides students with in-depth knowledge of the United States taxation system. Advanced course topics include corporate, individual and partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, tax practice and procedure, tax research, real estate taxation, retirement planning as well as international, state and local taxation.
