Mom and daughter graduate together
(ABC 4 News, Salt Lake city) — It was a very special day for one mother and daughter today, they both graduated from college. The mother, Gina Meacham and her daughter Sierra Willden graduated from Salt Lake Community College.
Gina says one of her biggest reasons for getting a degree was to get out of an abusive relationship and to offer hope to others.
“I think its awesome that we are both going to walk down the aisle together to get our diplomas. It’s an accomplishment for both of us. I am glad she’s here with me,” said Gina.
Both graduated with a degree in general studies. They say they even took a few classes together. Gina hopes to one day become a mentor to other women. And her daughter wants to become a elementary school teacher.
