New Report from AACC Provides Critical Charge to Community Colleges
The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) recently published a new document entitled Reclaiming
the American Dream: Community Colleges and the Nation’s Future. This report, written by the AACC-led 21st Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges, is a critical review of the community college role in shaping America’s future. The report calls upon community colleges to transform the way they operate to, among another objectives, increase student success and college readiness to achieve higher program completion, and eliminate achievement gaps between societal groups. The report was made possible through support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, ACT, and Educational Testing Service.
