New Report from the Center for an Urban Future
In this newly released report, Mobility Matters, the Center for an Urban Future addresses the benefits of the City
University of New York’s (CUNY) community colleges. While the report provides specific examples of the CUNY system and the benefits to New York’s local communities, the report highlights the value of community colleges
everywhere. Among other things, it stresses the value of completion, the cost of drop-outs, and offers suggestions on how to improve completion rates. Interestingly, Utah is already making progress on much of what the report suggests with scholarship funds, system-wide transfers, and linking transfer of non-credit to credit. The complete report can be accessed at http://www.nycfuture.org/images_pdfs/pdfs/MobilityMakers.pdf.
