What is the purpose of college? Why do so many people–professors, deans, provosts, and other faculty–desire to claim their career at a college? What makes students fork out big dollars for four years? Why college? The reasons vary, but I certainly hope that you have a lot more things on your mind than just football as you make your way in the university atmosphere.

Throughout your life, creating and maintaining positive relationships will be a huge key to your success. And I don’t mean this in the sense that finding a sugar daddy/momma to support you financially is the only way to be successful (…though I’m not entirely ruling it out either). Instead, I simply mean that building bridges between yourself and a variety of people from all walks of life is going to make your life a lot easier.

Real Life College Student Blog: Declaring War on Procrastination, Part 2

Last week, we declared war on an underlying commonality of students (and, quite frankly, a commonality that exists among us humans). It’s a horrible thing. It runs a mock in our lives. It’s not a lack of money, but procrastination. The oh-so-dangerous-and-easy-to-get-ensnared-in procrastination. Please, if you haven’t, read my last post about procrastination (you will enjoy it, I am sure!). Today, the war rages on and I have a few more tricks up my sleeve, some good advice to win the battle.

Real Life College Student Blog: A Beginner’s Guide to College Study Skills

From my high school days I remember a lot of friends bragging about how they could pass any class without studying. These are usually the kids who more or less breezed through high school, taking only the classes that were required and not bothering attempting the more challenging pre-college courses. I have to give them credit: they did manage to get by with A’s and B’s with a minimal effort. They walked on graduation day like everyone else.
