Unemployed? Call UHEAA for Payment Options
The Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Wednesday that the unemployment rate was higher in July than a year ago in 51% of the metropolitan areas measured. In Utah the preliminary unemployment figures for July 2010 of 7.4% were up from 7% a year ago.* Although that rate is lower than the national average of 9.6% reported today by the BLS for August, it is little comfort to more than 100,000 of our friends and neighbors who are out of work.
Whether you’ve been out of work for awhile or have only just become unemployed, if you’ve got a student loan through UHEAA, we’ve got some good news for you. Federal student loans come with excellent terms to help borrowers through rough times. We have repayment options that can reduce or postpone your payment while you get things with your employment squared away.
Don’t wait until your payment is due; call us today and let us explain all the options available to you. Our representatives are available Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
