UVU offers online course content to the public

(Geoffrey Fattah, Deseret News) — Utah Valley University officials say it is the first university in Utah to offer free academic content on Apple’s iTunes U.

Earlier this month, UVU began posting course content for on-demand download to students, faculty and the public at large. People can download video and audio of lectures, as well as class materials, on a variety of courses through iTunes.

The iTunes software is required to download the content onto personal computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones.

“Students and the public can go to iTunes U and access the content. It is available to anyone,” said Ray Walker, associate vice president of the office of information technology. More…
