WSU sees increase in enrollment
(Ogden, UT) — Enrollment at Weber State University has topped the 24,000 mark for the first time. Figures released this week by the Utah System of Higher Education puts Weber’s total enrollment at 24,126, an increase of 795 students or 3.41 percent.
“We work very hard even up to the start of school to add classes to accommodate demand,” said WSU President Ann Millner. “We’ve expanded the number of sections in courses where we could. We really worked hard to accommodate the needs of all the students, which is difficult in a time where we’ve taken budget cuts.”
For the third straight year, overall enrollment in Utah colleges and universities is growing, with nearly every institution serving more students.
The USHE reports total fall enrollment increased by 8,156 students, or 4.9 percent.
